The Carolina Rush FC Academy Program is designed for U9-U12 players and serves as a bridge between Recreational soccer and Select-level competition. This program is ideal for young players who show increased interest, motivation, and readiness for a higher level of training--while still prioritizing individual development over results.
The Academy focuses on building strong technical foundations, confidence on the ball, and love for the game. Winning is not the primary objective at this age; instead, we emphasize learning, creativity, and long-term player growth in alignment with the Rush soccer development model.
AGE GROUPS POOLS, EXPECTATIONS, & COACHING
Academy players train and compete in age group pools, allowing flexibility and maximizing development opportunities. This approach enables players to train with different teammates, experience varied challenges, and grow at their own pace.

- Small-Sided Games (7v7-9v9) to maximize touches and involvement

Our professional coaching staff leads all training, ensuring consistency, quality instruction, and a positive learning environment.
JOINING THE ACADEMY
Players interested in the Academy Program participate in an Academy Evaluation. This is an opportunity for coaches, players, and families to determine whether the Academy is the best fit for the player's current stage of development.
Evaluations help guide appropriate placement within Carolina Rush FC programs to support long-term success.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
Academy players train twice per week, with sessions lasting approximately 75-90 minutes, focusing on:
- Ball Mastery and Confidence;
- Technical Skill Development
- Introduction to tactical concepts;
- Decision-making in game-like environments
In addition, players may participate in Technical Skills Sessions, Speed & Agility training, and Goalkeeper training. Teams may also take part in tournaments, camps, clinics, and other soccer events throughout the season.
